From gallup.com:

PRINCETON, NJ -- New Gallup Poll Daily tracking finds Hillary Clinton with a 49% to 42% lead over Barack Obama in national Democratic voters' presidential nomination preference.

This is the first time Clinton has held a statistically significant lead in over a month. She last led Obama in Feb. 7-9 polling, just after the Super Tuesday primaries. Since then, the two candidates have usually been in a statistical tie, but Obama has held a lead in several of the polls, most recently in March 11-13 polling.

Obama's campaign has been plagued by controversial remarks made by his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Obama delivered a major speech on race Tuesday to try to move beyond the controversy. The initial indications are that the speech has not halted Clinton's gaining momentum, as she led by a similar margin in Tuesday night's polling as compared to Monday night's polling.

John McCain may be benefiting in the short-term from the highly charged Democratic race. He holds a statistically significant lead over Obama, 47% to 43%, in registered voters' preferences for the general presidential election. That is the first time any of the candidates has held a statistically significant lead since Gallup Poll Daily tracking began reporting on the general election race last week. McCain's 48% to 45% advantage over Clinton is not statistically significant, but it is the first time he has had an edge over her in Gallup Poll Daily tracking. -- Jeff Jones

Was a fun weekend...Friday night headed to Bear Shower night at SPIN. Lou and I met up with didiseven and joeyimel. After the contest, headed to Sidetrack for a drink or two and closed that place. Then it was back to Berwyn for a little bit of sleep...then Lou and I got up Saturday morning for a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry with bearistab67, nullslashvoid, djzack67, and didiseven. After all it was FREE admission, so we couldn't pass that up!!! The museum was just like I remember, and I don't know if that's good or bad since I was last there for an extended time about 20 some years ago. Sunday was very low key, did some shopping then watched some football. Keeping bearistab67's family in my thoughts as well...

PORTAGE, Wis. - Upset that his 7-year-old son wouldn't wear a Green Bay Packers jersey during the team's playoff victory Saturday, a man restrained the boy for an hour with tape and taped the jersey onto him.

Mathew Kowald was cited for disorderly conduct in connection with the incident with his son at their home in Pardeeville, Lt. Wayne Smith of the Columbia County Sheriff's Department said. Pardeeville is about 30 miles north of Madison.

The 36-year-old Kowald was arrested Monday after his wife told authorities about the incident. Kowald was taken to the county jail and held until Wednesday, when he pleaded no contest, paid a fine of $186 and was released.

Kowald's wife filed a restraining order Wednesday, so Kowald will not be able to have contact with his family, Smith said. Smith said other domestic issues have surfaced, though he wouldn't elaborate.

The boy refused to wear the jersey Saturday, when the Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks in a playoff game, Smith said. Smith said the incident sounded strange when reported at first, but the mother took pictures with her cell phone and that type of evidence is difficult to dispute.

I used to look forward to weekends cause it meant no work, relaxing and just hanging out...now I look forward to weekends cause it means I have 2.5 days to be with Louis (aka louiewashere).  Friday night was spent hanging out in Berwyn, playing with the pooches and trying to figure out what to do for dinner. Finally, went to Olive Garden for some chow. Came back to Berwyn and again hung out with the pooches. Went to bed early cause we had plans for things to do Saturday morning. Got up Saturday, and made us some breakfast and then we set our plan in motion. We spent most of the day going through the remaining boxes from his move and we were able to get ALMOST ALL of them either emptied, or into storage. There are only a handful remaining so we got the majority taken care of...then it was the highlight of my year so far....For Christmas, Louis got me tickets to go see Barry Manilow at the United Center, so off we went for an evening of great music. After the concert, we went to Sidetrack for a bit. Between the drinks at the show and then at Sidetrack, I was feeling no pain by the time we got back to Berwyn....LOL  Sunday, we got up late, I cooked some breakfast, and then it was time for the pooches to make their trip to the city for a couple weeks. It really is a quiet house when they are gone....and I miss them desperately for these two weeks  :-( ...  Then a quick trip to Wild Oats, and then we met bearistab67 and nullslashvoid for Coffee in Oak Park. We spent a few hours playing BARISTA, and just hanging out. It was a perfect way to end the weekend! ( and oh yes, I can't forget, Sunday marked 9 glorious months with Lou...)
